Cabbage Stir Fry with Turkey/Beef Mix
Author: Crabby Housewife
Ingredients
  • Head of cabbage
  • Soy sauce
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Onion
  • Red pepper
  • 1/4 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 pound ground turkey use 1/2 pound all ground beef if you do not want to do half and half
  • Olive oil
Instructions
  1. Mix the turkey and ground beef complete and brown in a skillet.
  2. If using 90% lean beef, you may need to add a little oil as the turkey tends to stick without a higher fat content beef. Just watch it. You'll know if you need to add a drizzle of oil.
  3. Chop the cabbage. The style doesn't really matter. I like mine in thin slivers. Make sure they are small enough to eat easily.
  4. In a large skillet, drizzle a couple of tablespoons of olive oil over the bottom.
  5. Set heat to medium and allow to heat for about three minutes.
  6. Add 1 clove of crushed garlic (fresh is best), 1/4 cup of diced onions and stir for two minutes.
  7. Add cabbage to the pan.
  8. Stir until the cabbage starts to brown. The cabbage will reduce a lot.
  9. Turn off heat.
  10. Sprinkle a dash or two (not much!) of red pepper
  11. Shake on about 1/8 cup of soy sauce and then add ground beef/turkey mix and stir thoroughly.
  12. Dinner is ready and delicious.
