A Piece of My Heart

We went up to Indy today to visit Scott’s mom (mother-in-law) in the hospital. Being in my hometown made me very nostalgic. Indy is where I got into mischief as a child; where I learned there was no Santa (What!???!); where I lost grandparents, but gained friends and precious memories that will last a lifetime; it’s where I had my first kiss; married my husband; met my best friend; had my children; drove my first car; the list goes on and on. Although Southern Indiana is now home, also filled with good memories, wonderful friends I wouldn’t trade for anything and an entire adopted family that I love dearly, and I wouldn’t move even if given the choice, Indy/Greenfield will always have a little piece of my heart. Today, I felt my heart contract as it tried to fill in that missing gap.
