Breaking Things

Everything in my house seems to be falling apart all at one time. First, the ice maker quit working. For no reason whatsoever a little wheel had broken. My husband tried to order a new one, but the company sent the wrong icemaker. In desparation, he pulled the entire thing out, glued the piece back on and it finally seems to be working.

Sunday evening, I closed my microwave door and heard a loud pop. The door refused to shut and the light was staying on. On top of that, my husband was on a camping trip, so I couldn’t even run to him and get it fixed. I finally just climbed up on a chair, reached over the range and unplugged the thing. He ordered the part to fix the latch today.

Our lawnmower also broke and needs a part. I don’t know what it is about this week, but one thing after another has broken. I’m wondering if my crabby housewife ways are catching up with me or if our family is just rough on things. There is probably something to be said for taking life slower and not slamming doors and kicking things shut when in a hurry.
